THE new town clerk for Wellington, Kathryn Hemensley, attended her first meeting of Wellington Town Council last week.

Kathryn, who will be working alongside current long-standing town clerk Greg Dyke from October 22, sat in on the meeting as an observer.

The Mayor, Cllr Gary James, welcomed her to the council, although he quipped that he hoped she would not change her mind after ‘seeing us in action’ at the meeting.

Kathryn lives in West Buckland and is currently employed as assistant property and trust officer with the United Reformed Church South Western Synod.

Mr Dyke retires from his role as town clerk after ten years in the job on December 31.
