It may be too early for many to think about Christmas. However Wellington Town Council is already planning this years festivities. A spokesperson for the council said: “Here at the Town Council we love Christmas!  So much so that even though it’s not yet August our thoughts are turning to this year’s festivities.”

With the Winter on the way and looming energy price hikes many may not be feeling the Christmas spirit this year. That is something the town council is trying to counter.

This year the town Christmas light switch on will be on Saturday the 26th November. The event will have market stalls, street entertainment and live music during the day leading up to the big event. There will also be street performers on the first three Saturdays in December.
