ARMED Forces Day on Saturday is being supported by Wellington Town Council with the laying of a poppy wreath at the town’s war memorial.
The Royal British Legion Wellington Branch Garden of Remembrance will also be dedicated and the ashes of remembrance crosses scattered.
Town Mayor Cllr Bob Bowrah will be joined by other town councillors in Wellington Park, Courtland Road, at 10am for the occasion.

This year the centenary of the Battles of Jutland and the Somme will also be commemorated.
Armed Forces Day aims to raise awareness of the contribution made to the country by those who serve and have served in HM Armed Forces and to provide an opportunity for the nation to show its support.
Cllr Bowrah said: “The town council wanted to formally express its gratitude and respect to the men and women who have served and are serving our country.
“We recognise the hard work our servicemen and women have carried out and wish to also show our support to those who are still serving.”
