GOOD citizens from the Wellington area have been recognised in the Citizenship Awards, hosted by Somerset West and Taunton Council with local Rotary Clubs.
Jenny Dilley, the key volunteer for Walk Well in Wellington, and townswoman Candice Thompson-Gardiner, one of the women behind the Christmas Sparkle Project, won awards at a ceremony at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
Wellington Arts Association, Wellington Flower Show Society and Wellington Cricket Club were among 11 nominees for awards.
The awards were open to individuals and voluntary groups who make a difference to people living in the community.

The Christmas Sparkle Project, which Candice runs with Gillian Harrison of Taunton, aims to give local children living in difficult circumstances a present from Santa on Christmas Day.
The charity works with schools and other agencies which support families in need.
The award winners were each given £100 to donate to a charity of their choice. Jenny chose Plan International and the Christmas Sparkle Project chose The Samaritans.
