Seven groups have been given grants of £250 each by the Blackdown Hills Transition group’s community fund.

They are: Churchstanton School local hedge regeneration project; Hemyock Primary School kitchen garden project; Blackdown Community Bus – Providing a Service to the Community; Repair at Home and Skills share scheme; CBO news schools Climate Change project; Longmead Environmental Project raised bed; and Hemyock wildflower verge project.

The group was able to make the grants following donations at its Repair Cafe and apple day events over the last two years. A spokesperson said: “We would like to thank everybody who has made a donation to make these small grants possible.”
