TWO Wiveliscombe women are staging a variety performance to raise money for UNICEF's Haiti Earthquake Children's Appeal.
Friends Gaby Bellamy and Vikki Bray have been busy booking a variety of acts to perform in the show at Kingsmead Community School on Saturday, March 6.
Headlining is Kinks tribute band, The Kinks Kontroversy, who are set to put on a 45-minute set to round off the evening. There's also a "family friendly" burlesque dancer, an acoustic guitarist, a show from local amateur dramatic group WAMDRAM, and offerings from the local Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.
Gaby said: "We are hoping local people will come and support this worthwhile cause.
"We were truly heart broken by what we saw on the news, read in the papers and heard on the radio about all of the children left in Haiti with no parents or guardians after the earthquake, and we decided that we wanted to do something to help.
"As mothers ourselves we would be devastated if something were to happen to our babies, should we not be there to care for them.
"We are supporting UNICEF because they are providing aid and safety to children who have been left with nothing, and nobody."
Tickets are still available available from Square Cut in Wiveliscombe costing £5 for adults, £3 for children/concessions and family tickets (two adults and two children) £12, with those under two going free. Tickets will also be available on the door.
The show is due to start at 7.30pm.
