The Met Office has issued two Yellow Warnings for strong winds covering Somerset on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It says there is a risk of "severe gales" in the region and transport is likely to be disrupted with delays likely to traffic and rail services.
The West Somerset coast is forecast to see gusts of up to 50mph. Heavy rain is forecast during Tuesday afternoon, with showers and sunny spells on Wednesday.
The first warning includes the west of England and Wales and runs from 3pm on Tuesday to 6am on Wednesday, followed by a second warning for the Westcountry in force throughout Wednesday until midnight.
The Met Office says: "A period of strong winds bringing the potential for some disruption on Tuesday and Wednesday."
What to expect
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves

Today:
Any lingering rain clearing eastwards through the morning leaving a day of sunny spells and blustery showers, which may be heavy at time with the risk of hail and thunder. Breezy, especially around coasts. Temperatures closer to average. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Tonight:
A continued risk of showers into the evening and overnight, though perhaps not as heavy or frequent than during the day. Remaining fairly breezy and staying mild overnight. Minimum temperature 7 °C.
Tuesday:
Dry in the east through the morning though heavy rain in the west spreading eastwards. Strengthening winds which will become strong in the afternoon with the risk of severe gales. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Remaining unsettled with wet and windy weather continuing on Wednesday. Further showers on Thursday though perhaps some bright spells with easing winds. Cloudy on Friday with the risk of rain.
