GOOD weather helped bring out about 180 people for the annual Howard Road Fun Day in Wellington.
The afternoon of free entertainment was organised by Wellington Churches Together and financed by grants from Wellington Town Council and SWAT Tenants’ Forum.
Wellington Mayor Cllr Janet Lloyd officially opened proceedings and a display by the Red Arrows Majorettes followed.
Team games were organised, with all ages taking part – some involving catching raw eggs – and the customary open-to-all water fight ended the afternoon.
The fun day also included a free barbecue, teas and cakes, inflatables and face painting. Wellington firefighters were again able to attend, and 10 Radio provided music and commentary.
Churches Together chairman John Salter said: “Names are too many to mention but we want to extend a big thank-you to anyone who helped in any way, as without you we would not be able to run the fun day. We look forward to seeing you again in 2020.”
