Results were: Best newcomer – Michelle Beacon; best ecological plot – Helen and Ian Gillingham; best variety and quality of crops cultivated – Sarah Hayman; best managed plot – Amanda Ashley.
All winners will receive one year rent free, while certificates for highly commended have been awarded to Chris Tubb, Mr and Mrs Gamlin, and Shirly Petrie.
Former assistant town clerk Gill Croucher, Allan Cavill and the Mayor, Cllr Janet Lloyd, judged the plots.
Winners will be presented with their prizes at the September meeting of the town council.
