FARMHOUSE Cheddar, Blue Stilton, Champagne-infused cheese wheels and much more has been on show this week at a huge event in Germany where Wellington-based cheese exporter Somerdale International has been showcasing its wares.
The firm is at Anuga in Cologne, the world’s largest and most important trade fair for food and beverages, which attracts 7,400 exhibitors and expects more than about 160,000 visitors over four days.
The firm, located at Westpark, is showcasing a comprehensive range of premium British cheese made by some of the country’s leading cheese makers including Abergavenny Fine Foods, Barbers, Cropwell Bishop, Ford Farm, Helers, Singletons and Quickes.
Somerdale is also exhibiting its own range of blended cheeses targeted at the growing demand in export markets for distinctively flavoured and textured cheese.
