HUNDREDS of people are expected to attend Wellington Rugby Club next month to pay their last respects to Richard Fox, who died on Boxing Day, aged 85.
Richard’s funeral service will take place at Taunton Deane Crematorium on Thursday, February 8, and will be followed by a gathering at the rugby club from 1 pm.
All those who knew Richard are being invited to attend either or both occasions, when personal tributes will be given.
His cousin Ben Fox said: “Richard was much loved by his family, dear friends and neighbours, and many, many in Wellington and wider afield.
“Richard’s wish was for no flowers and no gifts and no donations to charity.”
More information about both occasions is available from funeral director H. Tredwin and Sons, which is handling the arrangements.
Richard was the last of his line of the Fox family which gave the town its rugby club 150 years ago and he helped at the club on most match days.
A minute’s silence in memory of Richard was held during Monday’s (January 8) monthly meeting of Wellington Town Council, when councillors also spoke of their memories of him.
