THE Bear Skittle Alley Gallery at Wiveliscombe is fast becoming a Somerset Art Destination with this year’s Easter Exhibition the third in six Months.
The regular Bear Artists, Chris Howe, Victoria Ward, Teresa Wilson and John Abraham, are joined for the Easter exhibition by local gifted artist Tilly Willis.
Bear Inn proprietors John and Millie have made the skittle alley available for the Bear artists to mount their exhibitions during ‘The 10 Parishes Festivals’ and ‘Street Fair’ weekends.
The Bear Artists welcome visitors to come and enjoy the artwork on display. And as well as the original paintings, the artists will have prints, greeting cards and jewellery on display.
The exhibition is open 10am- 5pm Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Chris Howe lives in Wiveliscombe and is well known for his atmospheric watercolour paintings of Exmoor and the surrounding countryside.
Victoria Ward lives and works in Somerset, painting, drawing and print-making. Her recent digital painting is moving towards colourful abstraction. Victoria, a qualified teacher, runs workshops and classes in Somerset.
Artist Teresa Wilson has exhibited widely and studied at Dartington College of Art. Teresa is currently exploring the use of colour in abstract paintings and beads.
Tilly Willis is known for African paintings and her portraits, often working to commission. Local landscapes and quirky still lifes will be on show at the Bear Skittle Alley Gallery.
John Abraham, known for his dramatic skies and seascapes, has exhibited at many West Country venues and has a mini gallery in the Quay Antique Centre, Topsham.
