YOUNG Rottweiler Bernard is seeking a new home after being taken in by a Wellington-based dog rescue.

The two-year-old dog was rescued by an animal-loving nurse who saw two men attempting to sell him as she was on her way home from work.

Bernard had chains around his head and was clearly not well, and the nurse offered the men money to let her take him.

He is now with Rottie Friends Rescue and ready to begin a new chapter in his life. But because of the trauma he has experienced he is looking for a special type of home and the rescue has turned to dog adoption site, dogs
