THE World Wellington Boot Throwing Championship at Court Fields School last Saturday was opened by Mayor of Wellington Cllr Gary James and was followed by a display by Wellington Majorettes.

In addition to the adult and under-tens welly throwing events, Romanian Dog Rescue hosted a dog show and dog agility. Wellington Silver Band started off the live music with its junior band and was followed by a selection of live music organised by Lee Edmead. There was entertainment for everyone: children’s entertainers Ta’Daa!, The Vintage bar and hog roast, tombolas, The Minions, have-a-go archery, plus a variety of stands and a raffle in aid of Wellington Children’s Centre.
