NEW double yellow lines are needed on a section of road in Buckwell, says one resident, after a driver’s bad parking prevented a recycling lorry getting down the road.

Two angry residents left notes on a LandRover parked badly last Thursday morning. One said: “Great thoughtful parking!? Now all of us who LIVE HERE have to wait for the recycle van another time! What a pain you are.”

The other note said: “Bins and recycling couldn’t be picked up today as your car is parked so badly. Cheers. Genius.”

Another resident, who did not want to be named, said it was not an isolated incident as the road is used by commuters parking in town.

He added: “I think Taunton Deane Borough Council or the roads people need to put yellow lines on that corner, which is where the main problem is, to say ‘no parking’.

“All the residents are complaining about it and it affects everyone there. It’s about time someone took an interest and did something about it.

“If you have food recycling waste and it’s hanging around for another week it’s going to start festering. Who wants that?”
