SEVENTEEN local groups and artists took part in the second Christmas at the Wellesley Theatre on Sunday, the event raising more than £1,300.

A full house heard music and readings and saw dancers perform.

Event organiser Nancy Powell-Brace said: “It was fantastic night and even better than last year.”

The event was sponsored by Merlin Cinemas, Wilkie May & Tuckwood, Wellington Arts Association and Carly Press, so all the proceeds were profit.
