WELLINGTON Library Friends have held their traditional end of Summer Reading Challenge presentation.
More than 240 Wellington children and 70-plus in Wiveliscombe completed the task of reading six books during the summer holiday.
Deputy Mayor Janet Lloyd presented about 40 of them with their certificates, congratulated them on their efforts and encouraged them to make use of the library facilities.
Library staff reminded parents that activities for the under-fives had restarted and a second Lego group meeting was being held on Fridays.
The friends also held a Challenge EXtra again this year, with a painting the required item. The winners in each age group received book tokens for their efforts.
A friends spokesman said: “The Deputy Mayor was literally left holding the baby when the photo was taken, as the library’s youngest member had taken part at the age of nearly one. As someone said, it underlined the fact that books, and other library services, are for all ages!”
