Decisions are hard. Especially my current decision, on where to take myself to go to university.

On Friday, I had to make the trip up to Salford for an interview, which went well, I hope. Apart from the emergency evacuation halfway through, I think the journey to MediaCity was worth it. Although, if they don’t accept me off the back of that, then maybe that would help with the decision. It would reduce my options, at least.

Sheffield would be destination then, by a process of elimination. It is odd that the best courses for journalism are concentrated in the North. It’s looking like I’ll have to buy a few more scarves and gloves before next September, whatever happens.

A lot needs to happen before then though. We need to leave the EU – or not, fingers crossed; then Algeria needs to have a presidential election – I know, it seems like that last one was only yesterday; and then thousands of people need to stand and jump around in a Somerset field – Glastonbury sounds baffling out of context.

Before all of that though a few more decisions must be made. I hope you’ve all at least begun your Christmas shopping – but even then more choices present themselves. Do you stick to turkey or go wild with goose? Where will everyone sit? And there’s always one gift you’ve forgotten to get.

Well, the clock’s ticking, but do remember to try and enjoy yourselves, and I wish you all a very happy Christmas, and may that joy be carried across into the New Year.
