THREE triples teams from Burnham-on-Sea came to do battle with Wellington Bowling Club's C team last week.

Wellington’s Phil Hutchings, Monica Carter and skip Lynda Manning played well. They took the lead early on and despite the Burnham trio trying hard they stayed ahead to win comfortably 24–14.

It looked as though Kevin Austin, Shirley Samuel and skip Ken Brown had the winning of their game. They led 11–4 after nine ends but the Burnham side got down to some serious bowling and crept past to pinch an exciting game 14 – 13.

On rink 3 Tracey Richbell, Ernie Windsor and skip Andrew Baird were 9–5 down at the halfway point but they slowly but surely came back for a single shot victory 17–16.

Wellington C were the winners by two rinks to one and by an overall score of 54 to Burnham's 44.
