SHOCK troops Wellington will be chasing their fifth successive win when they play at home to Street in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League on Saturday (12.30).
They have also beaten Frome, last season’s runners-up in the Somerset Division, and current leaders Chard, despite not being at full strength.
Talented wicket-keeper Ben Evett and vice captain Luke Desave who both missed Wellington’s fine win at Chard over the weekend return for Saturday’s game against Street. Desave got married over the weekend.
Wellington should also be at full strength for Monday’s big home game against North Petherton in the second round of the 20-overs a side Baker Cup which starts at 6.15p.m.
“Winning has become a habit,” said club spokesman David Derrick. “We’ve carried over the momentum from last season when we won our last four matches to earn promotion.
“The remarkable thing is that we have not always been at full strength. There is great focus in the side at the moment. The lads are certainly playing with plenty of confidence.”
