WATCHET will clinch the first division title in the West Somerset Cricket League if they beat Kilve away in their penultimate match of the season on Saturday, September 6.

Watchet, who won the second division championship last summer, are unbeaten after 16 matches this season and have a 26-point lead over second placed Ashbrittle, while Kilve are one point further behind in third spot.

However, last season champions Ashbrittle and Kilve have only one more fixture remaining to complete their season, while Watchet have two and have the title race sewn up.

In the second division, winners Crowcombe and second-placed Sampford Arundel have already made sure of promotion to the top division, finishing well clear of Lydeard St Lawrence who play Roadwater at home in their final game on Saturday, September 6.

In Division Three Cannington can pip Hemyock for top spot if they win their last two matches - against Cutcombe and Carhampton.

In Division Four Wiveliscombe 2nd XI will be looking to finish above current leaders Buckland St Mary & Bishopswood if they win their two last matches - against Spaxton and Stoke St Mary.
