WELLINGTON’S football boss Tim Legg has ruled out bringing in new players despite the side being without a win under his management.

He said after Saturday’s abandoned home game against Bradford Town: “I think we’re in a good place considering the situation we were in six weeks ago.

“We lost a lot of players and I’ve managed to rebuild the squad. We now have 19 potential first team players and the squad is good enough to compete.

“I have tried to bring in players who will play the style of football I want. The bad weather has been frustrating because we haven’t been able to build up any momentum.

“I am not looking for new players although if a player comes along who can strengthen the side then, of course, I would sign him.”

“But at the moment all we need is for the weather to improve and we can go out there and play some football.

“My aim is to pull away from the bottom of the table and to move into a mid-table position which is not beyond us.”

Wellington go into Boxing Day’s game at Bridport in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League with a full-strength squad.

Wellington Reserves have no match on Boxing Day but play at home to Exwick Villa in the first division of the Devon and Exeter League on Saturday while Hemyock, who play in the third division, are without a game until the New Year.
