WELLINGTON go into Saturday’s home game against Westbury United in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League having not played a full game since Wednesday, December 11.

Tim Legg’s outfit were due to play Bridport away on Boxing Day but the game was called off because of the bad state of the pitch following an early morning inspection.

Wellington drew 3-3 at home against Street early in December but their match at home to Bradford Town on Saturday, December 21, was abandoned after 70 minutes because of atrocious weather conditions with the leaders 3-0 up.

“We took some positives from both these matches, even against Bradford,” said Legg. “But we cannot control the weather.

“We look forward to the visit of Westbury. They obviously had a good season last year but have lost a little momentum this season. We must take advantage of that.

“We should be at full strength. As far as I’m aware everyone is available. Games should come thick and fast in the New Year.”

Wellington still have to win a match since Legg took over but he says the job of rebuilding the side is now over.

He is still in need of an all-out striker- one who can score 30 goals a season. “If you know of one let me know,” he said.

Wellington Reserves are away to top of the table Crediton United in the first division of the Devon and Exeter League on Saturday, while Hemyock are home to Winkleigh in Division Three.

Second-placed Wellington A are away to White Eagles in Division Two of the Invest Southwest Taunton Saturday League, while Wellington side Moortown are home to West Monkton in Division One of the Keyline Somerset Sunday League.

Moortown are finding it tough going in the top division this season and have yet to win a game.
