WELLINGTON will be back in action after an enforced ten-day break when they play away to Shepton Mallet in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League on Saturday.
It has been their away form this season which has been worrying Wellington boss Clive Jones who said: “We play very well at home but our away form is a problem.”
Wellington lost 3-0 away to Bridport last Wednesday and Jones added: “I was happy with our first half display at Bridport but were fell away in the second half
“We keep giving the ball away. It means we keep chasing the ball and tire in the second half. It’s something we need to address.”
Jones is hoping the influential Tim Legg will be available after struggling with a leg injury while Ben Newman will be in the squad after missing the midweek match because of RAF duties.
“We had three or four players who were unavailable to play at Bridport which did not help,” added Jones. “But I’m not making that an excuse for losing.
“At the moment we’re struggling to field a settled side. We’re always having to make changes. I want to pick a side rather than the team picks itself.”
Definitely ruled out on Saturday is goalscoring midfielder Josh Wadham who is serving out a six-match suspension.
Both Shepton and Wellington hold mid-table positions which means it should be a close match.
Wellington Reserves, who remain bottom of Division One in the Devon and Exeter League despite a fine 3-2 away win over Hatherleigh Town over the weekend, are home to Heavitree United Reserves.
Hemyock, who suffered a disappointing 2-1 home defeat against Winkleigh in Division Four, are away to Sampford Peverell.
