EXCELSIOR Athletic Development Club is starting Freestyle Gymnastics next month in Wellington. Local boys inspired by double Olympic gold medallist Max Whitlock are invited to try out this exciting new style of gymnastics.

Head coach James Marshall said: “We have had a lot of enquiries from boys of all ages looking to take up gymnastics since Max, Nile Wilson and Louis Smith all won medals. FreeG is ideal for teenage boys wanting to learn how to do basic gymnastics and be adventurous in the gym at the same time.”

Excelsior ADC is based in Willand, Devon, but has recently received £5200 of funding from British Gymnastics to help it buy new equipment and expand to the Satellite venue at Court Fields School in Wellington.

FreeG will be available for secondary school pupils and general gymnastics for primary school age on Wednesday afternoons.
