THE short trip from Wellington to Thruxton for the last round of the NGRR championship was worth it for local motorcycle racer Phil Webber.
With the championship settled back in August he was able just to relax and enjoy racing his GSX-R 750 in the Pre-87 production class but could then concentrate on setting up his new bike, a 27 year old Honda Fireblade ready for 2018.
In the Pre-87 production class on his Suzuki he kept up his 100 per cent winning streak by finishing top of the shop in both races ending the season in style.
He did not disappoint onlookers during the Pre Injection 1300 races either as he again pulled off a win and a second place during just his second time on the fireblade where in his own words he was only testing his new machine for next year.
Talking after the event Phil was in a reflective mood and just wanted to thank everyone that has been there supporting him during this year and was looking forward to getting back out on track in 2018.
