ONE of the owners of Odette’s tearoom in High Street, Wellington, Nancy Powell-Brace, is promoting Sing for Jim, a 24-hour ‘singathon’ at Wellington Arts Centre.

The event is in aid of her friend Jim Skinner, who has been battling cancer for 18 months. Money raised will help him or, if not, help Macmillan Cancer Support care for people in his situation.

The ‘singathon’ is at the arts centre in Eight Acre Lane from 7pm on Saturday, September 10, to 7pm on Sunday, September 11, and will include all kinds of artists and performers from the local area and across the UK. Entrance is free to the event but a bar will be available, along with buckets for donations at the door.
