Old photo enthusiast Doug Marshall brought in this picture prompted by the WWN’s front page story in the January 28 edition about Wellington Town Council potentially buying the Basins.

The photo, taken in about 1950, shows Doug, who now lives at Buckwell, at the front of the boat at the beauty spot.

The former Courtland School pupil said the boat was made at the school under the guidance of woodwork teacher Mr Cattell, who is pictured at the back, with his son in the middle.
