Clients visiting Wellington Foodbank on the Thursday before Christmas were each treated to a box of six chocolate brownies from patissier Jason Ashdown, manager of Sticky Toffee Patisserie, based in Tonedale.
Jason visited the foodbank the week before and said he would like to give something to local people who were struggling.
Lead volunteer Christine Silverlight gratefully accepted his offer and the result was enough boxes of chocolate brownies for all the clients visiting the foodbank.
She said: “It was a very busy session with more clients than expected - numbers have been going up recently - and it was lovely to be able to give them a treat to take home.”
