POLICE have said they will deal with ‘drunken people’ causing problems in Wellington.
Sgt Jon O’Connor, of Wellington Police, told local councillors on Monday (March 2) that they would not put up trouble-makers.
His remarks came at Wellington Town Council’s monthly meeting where Cllr John Thorne said he had noticed an increase in “drunken people” in the town.
Cllr John Thorne, said: “I have heard that a few people have been coming over from Taunton,
“A traffic warden lady had to help some of them because they could hardly walk.”
Sgt O’Connor said: “We are not going to tolerate any unruly behaviour in the town.”
But he said there was little police could do if people were just having a drink.
