Wellington Business Association chairman Keith Wheatley said: “If Aldi were to come to the town then that’s got to be a good thing for Wellington. You don’t get to be Supermarket of the Year without being extremely good at what you do and Aldi offers fantastic value to its customers.
“I might be worried if I was Asda but that’s not really a problem for the consumer. If they were to find a site on the north side of Wellington it could help with the regeneration of the whole tone Vale area.”
