GREEN-FINGERED enthusiasts have been presented with awards by Wellington Town Council in the annual Allotment Awards.
The former regional director of the National Society of Allotment Gardeners, Allan Cavill, chairman of the allotments committee Cllr Janet Lloyd and assistant town clerk Gill Croucher judged the entries for this year’s competition.
Results: Best managed – Nigel Baker; most eco-friendly – Nadine Provenzano; best newcomer – Sarah Hayman; best cultivated – Mike Broom; highly commended – Tony Rudd/Frank Knight; highly commended – Gordon Curran.
Mayor of Wellington Cllr Gary James and Cllr Janet Lloyd presented awards to those able to attend last week’s town council meeting.
