WELLINGTON Monument & District Ploughing Society will not be holding a match this year.

Secretary Peter Hill said members are involved with running the National Ploughing Championships being held this weekend at Bishops Lydeard.

That event will feature more than 200 ploughs over the two days of competition. Five steam ploughing engines will be working and there will be a large vintage/rural display with the theme ‘From Horse to Horse Power’.

The site is being made available by K S Coles and Family.
