A WIVELISCOMBE company is the first in the country to take on three apprentices to train to be saw doctors.

The apprentices in the 'dark art' have joined EPS Services and Tooling at its base in Ford Road where they are learning skills in tooling technology and processes, enabling them to provide new saws, servicing and repairs for the UK wood and timber industry.
Charles Wallace, Rob Owen and Bradley Wilson, who have been recruited locally, are on the pioneering course and the company is planning to expand the programme in 2014 with a further two apprentices.
