TEACHER Rebekah (Becki) Bawler, who attended Uffculme School, has received an EdTech50 award at Amazon’s headquarters in London.

She is a lead ICT teacher at Risca Community Comprehensive in South Wales and one of her roles is advising schools across five local authorities in the region.

Award judges felt Rebekah was a superb teacher who used education technology in sensible ways and exhibited highly competent use of digital to support learners.

Hundreds of nominations were received and she was one of 23 educators across the UK to receive an award.

Rebekah, whose parents live in Hemyock, said: “I was humbled but extremely delighted to have received the award.” She also thanked everyone who had helped her achieve everything she has done.
