EXPANDING cardboard firm Rigid Containers, based on the Chelston Business Park, near Wellington, is looking to take on dozens more workers over the next two years.

The firm, which officially unveiled a £1.8m corrugator machine last week to an invited audience, employs more than 60 staff at the moment but plans to increase the number to about 100.

Rigid, which mainly supplies boxes for the food industry and counts among its clients Gerber, Yeo Valley and Ginster’s, made half a billion boxes last year. Other markets include healthcare and pharmaceuticals, e-commerce and packaging.
