Calendar call

THE ladies of a women’s institute in Yorkshire famously stripped down to the bare necessities to raise money for charity – now the PTA at Wellesley Park Pre-School in Wellington is calling for local men and dads to be ‘Calendar Boys’.

PTA chairman Natalie Vale said the calendar they hope to create would be ‘sophisticated’ and added: “We’re trying to raise money for new equipment. For years we have been selling raffle tickets to win a hamper but we’re looking for something different this year.”  

Members of Rylstone WI in Yorkshire raised £2million for leukaemia research and their calendar spawned the hit 2003 movie ‘Calendar Girls’ starring Helen Mirren.
