FOUR farm vets from the Mount Veterinary Hospital in Wellington took part in the Wellington Triathlon on Sunday – in cow suits with udders on display.

Piers Pepperell, David Balch, Alastair ‘Winner’ Winearls and Oliver Judkins (pictured) have several family members and colleagues who have been treated for breast cancer and took part to raise money for SURE (Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment).

The volunteer-run charity supports the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton which treats cancer patients.

Vet Piers Pepperell said: “We are the ‘brudders’ raising money for the treatment of poorly udders.”

Just before the event the vets were closing in on their £3,000 fundraising target – but donations can still be made at mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/
