MIDWIFERY student India-Skye Cordy, of Sylvan Road, Wellington, has raised hundreds of pounds for a cause close to her heart by taking a leap into the unknown.
India-Skye, 19, has so far raised £650 for the Alzheimer’s Society through a tandem parachute jump from 15,000 feet at Dunkeswell Airfield.
India-Skye, who was set to start her midwifery studies at Plymouth University on Monday, did the jump in memory of her nan, Wellington woman Brenda Oliver, who died four years ago.
She said: “I was so nervous about the jump but I would love to do it again – for another charity next time. It’s just an amazing experience – the 60 seconds of freefall was the best bit.”
Anyone who would like to contribute to India-Skye’s fundraising should text 70070 stating her unique code, RIPN64, and the amount they want to give.
