WELLINGTON town councillors are to appeal for a delay in the proposed increase in car park charges in the town in view of the difficulties currently being experienced by motorists because of continuing road works.

At their meeting on Monday, councillors agreed that the clerk, Greg Dyke, shoud attend a meeting of the Taunton Deane Traffic Regulation Order Panel to present the council's views and the case for a delay.

The meeting will take place at 6.15pm on Wednesday December 17 at the Deane House in Taunton, and it was suggested that other councillors and members of the public should attend.
