SENIOR carer at Nynehead Court in Wellington Kim Horton raised more than £225 when she had about 20cm of her hair cut off in aid of the Little Princess Trust.

Kim, who is in charge of the Mulberry Wing, gave her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs free of charge to children across the UK and Ireland who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

Kim decided to have her hair cut after growing it for a year as she had a school friend who lost her hair during chemotherapy.

Hairdresser Christine Angus cut Kim’s hair – Christine is a familiar face at Nynehead Court, where she cuts residents’ hair.

Home manager Angela Watkins said: “Kim’s lovely gesture will help a child or children who has suffered serious illness. Everyone at Nynehead Court is very proud of her and we all agree that her new haircut looks fantastic.”
