NEW group Wellington Caretakers will be helping to keep the town clean and tidy this weekend.

Former teacher and student Rachel Edge and Nancy Powell-Brace are joining forces to help clean up areas of Wellington and Rockwell Green that are in need.

The volunteer group is modelled on the Bridgwater Canal group Rage Against Rubbish.

The first meeting is on Sunday, July 28, between 2-4.30pm. Volunteers are asked to meet outside Wellington sports centre and will walk to the Basins, around Oaken Ground and back to the sports centre.

Black bags and plastic gloves will be supplied and volunteers will be asked to sign a disclaimer.
