CARING Maggie Milton, who is retiring after working at Wellington and Longforth House since 2002, is bowing out on a high after winning the Care Focus Care Award for Excellence in Leadership.

Maggie, who has worked in the care sector most of her life, was promoted to manager in 2004 and remained in the role until March last year. She has supported apprentice work placements and hundreds of staff in her time at the home.

The Care Awards Gala Evening was held at the Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton, About 400 people attended the event with 41 finalists short-listed in 12 categories.
