WELLINGTON Cricket Club has received £1,050 from the town council as a contribution towards its winter coaching sessions for young people.

Mayor Janet Lloyd is pictured presenting a cheque to Wellington Cricket Club Youth development officer Simon Spalding.

Simon thanked the council and hoped the sessions for four to 11 year olds would give youngsters the opportunity to shine and feed into the club.

The next stage for the club is to attract more girls to the

sport.
