Children from a day nursery have sent a special package of drawings to two Wellington residential care homes to spread some joy during the coronavirus outbreak.

Children from the Mama Bear’s Day Nursery close to Bridgwater and Taunton College in Taunton have created bright and colourful rainbow pictures to cheer up residents at Abbeyfield and Camelot House and Lodge.

Sam Paddon, manager of Camelot House and Lodge, said: “Our residents and staff were just delighted when they saw the rainbow pictures, and several of the images are now displayed on our walls.

“Community links are really important to the people with dementia who we support. And at the current time – with their usual personal contacts restricted because of the virus – it is just lovely for our residents to know the children are thinking of them, so a big thank you to Mama Bear’s.”
