ST JOHN’S Church, Wellington, rang out to the uplifting choral music provided by 67 members of Wellington Choral Society when Deputy Mayor of Wellington Mark Lithgow was guest of honour at a moving concert.
The audience were exceptionally fortunate to hear stirring performances by the two professional soloists, bass Tim Mirfin and soprano Krystl Ride.
Under the authoritative baton of musical director Laurence Blyth, a packed house enjoyed the programme of Bach’s Ein Deutsches Requiem and Geistliches Lied, sung by the choir and soloists. Tim Murfin gave a masterful delivery of Vier Ernste Gesänge.
Peter King and Peter Adcock on piano and organ accompanied the choir and soloists.
