CHRISTMAS is coming to Wellington when Santa rides into town and the festive lights are illuminated on Saturday, November 28.
Wellington Majorettes will lead Santa on his sleigh, along with Carnival Royalty, before he settles down in his grotto at the Wellington Weekly News offices in High Street.
The majorettes will also perform, as will Wellington Pantomime Group, which will present songs from its upcoming show, The Wizard of Oz, as well as Christmas hits. St John’s School, accompanied by Beech Grove school choir, will perform a nativity play.
Mayor Janet Lloyd will switch on the lights with Wellington Prep School’s head boy and girl at about 6pm. There will be a ride for young people and free glowsticks for children.
