CHRISTMAS music, readings and dance will be coming to the Wellesley Theatre in Wellington on Sunday.

Sixteen local groups and artists are taking part in the second Christmas at the Wellesley.

Last year’s event raised £1,490 to enhance the town’s Christmas lights. This year the money raised will go to Wellington carnival committee to help with next year’s carnival.

Event organiser Nancy Powell-Brace said: “This is an event by the town, for the town. All proceeds go back in to help make Wellington the special town it is. “We hope this will be another sell-out occasion and you will come and join the town’s launch into Christmas.”

The event is sponsored by Merlin Cinemas, Wilkie May & Tuckwood, Wellington Arts Association and Carly Press so that all proceeds can be used to support the carnival.

Tickets priced £5 are only available from Odette’s tearoom in High Street. The event begins at 6.30pm to ensure it is accessible to members of the community of all ages.
