FAMILIES from the Wellington area can get crafty in aid of a children’s charity at the Dunster Show next week.

Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is attending the show on Friday (August 17) and is hosting children’s Christmas tree decoration activities to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Reg Hendy from the tree farm at Middle Hill Farm in Langford Budville said: “This will be our first time at the Dunster Show and we’re really looking forward to it.

“We’ve decided to host a children’s craft activity during the day for a donation to our charity of the year, CHSW. We will be helping youngsters create a Christmas tree decoration from fabric swatches, glue and polystyrene balls.

“This was a great hit with children during our Open Farm Sunday event in June.

“We’re also going to take along a few of our Christmas trees and will be on hand to explain what we get up to on the plantation throughout the year and what it takes to grow and maintain a Christmas tree.

“People will also be able to see some of the tools we use to help us look after the trees. We’re looking forward to meeting new and existing customers and explaining the benefits of going for a real tree this Christmas.”

Dunster Show takes place on the lawns below Dunster Castle and includes demonstrations, bands, crafts and trades stands. The show has a wide range of classes for horses, cattle and sheep attracting competitors from all over the country.
