RACHEL Edgecombe and Nancy Powell-Brace led a litter pick-up in Wellington on Sunday.
Rachel said: “We had a really positive start to the litter battle on Sunday. Four of us met up with pickers, gloves and bags and started by clearing the sports centre car park.
“After that we moved to the skate park. You can see from the photo that we cannot always blame the ‘youth of today’ for the mess in their areas. The bin in the skate park was insanely overflowing and the young people had tried to do the right thing by at least placing their litter NEXT to the bin.
“It was also heart warming that when we arrived three or four of the lads at the park got stuck in and lent a hand.
“We then moved on along the Basins, around Oaken Ground in Rockwell Green, through the Well and up over Hilly Head back to the sports centre.
“You can see from the bags that a good job was done on Sunday and we have planned the next session already - August 17 2p.m. - 4 p.m. meeting at the Poole roundabout and heading in to Cades Farm. Everyone is welcome.
“We are trying to spread the word around the whole area so please speak up if you have an area that causes you concern and we will put it on our map. Many thanks to the warriors who turned up on Sunday.”
